Relationship Therapy for Couples
Relationships can get stuck in patterns.
You might find yourselves having the same arguments over and over again.
One of you might push for answers while the other pulls away. Small things become big things. You stop feeling heard by each other, resentment builds, and you've started to feel more like housemates than partners.
Often, what's happening isn't simply a communication problem.
Relationship therapy can help you understand the pattern you've become caught in, what's sitting underneath it and begin creating different ways of responding and connecting with each other.
Relationship therapy may help with...
-
Repeating conflict and communication difficulties
-
Feeling disconnected or more like housemates
-
Trust and relationship repair
-
Anxious and avoidant relationship patterns
-
Emotional and physical intimacy
-
Understanding each other's needs
-
Navigating significant changes or stress
-
Rebuilding friendship and connection
-
Breaking patterns that keep repeating
-
Deciding how you want your relationship to move forward
The relationship is only part of the picture
A relationship doesn't exist separately from the two people in it.
We each bring our own experiences, beliefs, needs, fears and ways of protecting ourselves into our relationships. So sometimes changing what happens between you also means looking at what's happening within each of you.
Part of our work will involve understanding your own patterns, triggers and responses, and how these may be contributing to the cycle you've become caught in together.
The aim isn't only to understand the pattern, but to begin changing what happens when it shows up — both within yourselves and between you.
What we're working towards
My hope isn't just that you communicate better.
It's that you begin to understand each other differently.
You're able to recognise your own patterns before getting caught in the same cycle together.
Repair becomes easier after conflict.
You make space for each other's differences rather than seeing them as problems to solve.
You understand what matters most to each of you and become better able to respond to each other's needs, while taking responsibility for your own.
And somewhere along the way, you find yourselves laughing together again and feeling like you're on the same team.
So you can keep moving towards the kind of relationship you both want to create.
Ways we can work together
Not every couple comes to relationship therapy looking for the same thing.
You might have something specific you'd like support with, be navigating a difficult period, or simply want some help getting unstuck. Or you may know that the same issues have been repeating for a long time and you're ready to commit to doing some deeper work on your relationship.
Everyone begins with an initial 90-minute Relationship Therapy session. From there, you can continue session-by-session or choose Rebuilding Connection if it feels like the right fit.
Relationship Therapy - 90 minutes | $250 per session

Rebuilding Connection
A structured 8-session relationship therapy process.
Rebuilding Connection is for couples who want to go beyond resolving the immediate problems and work more deeply on the patterns underneath them.
Across eight 90-minute sessions, we'll follow a clear pathway while still tailoring the work to your relationship. We'll explore the patterns between you, what each of you brings to the relationship, what's happening underneath your reactions, and how you can begin responding and connecting differently.
The process includes six sessions together and one individual session with each partner, giving us dedicated space to better understand each of you within the relationship.
You'll also receive a Rebuilding Connection workbook, with reflections and practical exercises to guide our sessions and support the work you're doing between them.
If something emerges that would benefit from more focused individual therapy, we can discuss this separately while keeping our relationship work moving forward.
8 × 90-minute sessions | $1,900
Your first Relationship Therapy session becomes session one of Rebuilding Connection if we decide together that the program is a good fit.
A note about relationship therapy
Both partners need to be willing to participate in the process. This includes being open to taking accountability for your own part in the patterns between you, being willing to work on your side of things, and being curious about your partner's experience too.
Relationship therapy isn't appropriate in all circumstances, particularly where there are current safety concerns or ongoing family and domestic violence.
If I have concerns about whether working together is appropriate, we'll discuss this and consider what other support may be more suitable.
